AAC Services for Families
​
- AAC assessment, trialling and prescription: this includes alternative access systems such as eye-gaze/switching
- Editing of communication systems/device set up (both paper-based and high-tech communication systems)
- Coaching and workshops to support AAC use
- Ongoing intervention/goal-setting and support for families that have a communication system in place
- Customised resources to support with AAC implementation
- Collaboration with your allied health team (Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist)


AAC Parent Support Group
Are you practicing using some using visual communication strategies with your child/young adult? This could be key-word signs, paper-based communication boards or books and high-tech communication systems.
Would you like to meet other like-minded families and have further support to use these across your child’s day?

It can be helpful to connect with other people who understand what you are going through- this will be facilitated by a Speech Pathologist.

What's involved:
- Initial phone call with Speech Pathologist
- Weekly meeting
- Focus on developing your communication partner skills
- Evidence-based strategies and resources
- Reporting as required
- Places will be limited to six families and can also be available to those wanting telehealth​​
